(LEESVILLE) - Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on George Johnson Road Sunday morning.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 20-year-old Zachary Spence of Medora was traveling west on George Johnson Road and was coming down a hill and around a curve when his 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse began to skid. Spence told police he attempted to drive the vehicle out of the skid but was unable to and collided with a 2013 Chevrolet Impala driven by 63-year-old William Steltehpohl of Belvidere.

Steltehpohl was traveling east on George Johnson Road when he saw the car coming down the hill and around he curve at a fast-rate of speed.

Steltehpohl told police the vehicle kept coming closer and closer and eventually was all the way in his lane.

William Steltehpohl and Spence were not injured during the incident. But William's passengers; 61-year-old Gayle Steltehpohl and 67-year-old Tim Steltehpohl, both of Belvidere; complained of neck and head pain.
