(BLOOMINGTON) - Two Bloomington men have been arrested in a home invasion armed robbery and burglary.

According to Bloomington Police Cpt. Joe Qualters, officers arrested 25-year-old Jacob Wyatt and 23-year-old Edward Richardson. Both men are facing felony charges of armed robbery, criminal confinement and burglary.

The men are accused of stealing two assault-style weapons and other items in a December 11 home invasion robbery.

On December 11, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Bloomington Police officers were called to the 300 block of West Riley Drive in regards to a home invasion robbery that had just taken place. The victims reported that two black males and a white male with handguns burst through their front door and threatened to shoot them.

The two victims were injured after being struck by the men, who robbed them of their money.

Then on December 27, a burglary was reported at an apartment in the 1100 block of West 17th Street. The victim indicated that forced entry had been made via a sliding glass door and that several items had been taken. Those items included two AR-15 assault-style weapons, an Xbox gaming system and games, Air Jordan basketball shoes and six Air Jordan hooded sweatshirts.

Detectives were able to determine that Wyatt and Richardson may have been involved in the home invasion armed robberies.

On Wednesday, officers secured a search warrant for an apartment in the 2500 block of South Rockport Road. Both individuals were under surveillance and Richardson was arrested after officers saw him leave in a vehicle and stopped him.

At the same time, other officers were executing the search warrant at the apartment and Wyatt was arrested.

After being interviewed, both suspects were booked into the Monroe County Jail.

Several items were seized as a result of the search warrant that linked the men to the robberies and to a Monroe County Sheriff's Department's case where two victims were shot.

The investigation continues and more arrests are possible and additional charges could be filed against the men.

Updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
