(SEYMOUR) - St.Vincent Sports Performance is proud to honor Seymour High School senior Madison Hays as the December Spirit of Sport Award Honoree.
Driven to get involved, Madison joined the girls cross country team in seventh grade. But after noticing her natural talent and falling in love with the sport, she kicked her training up a notch and even enlisted some help from experts to improve her strength, stride length and overall running form. Despite battling a foot injury and low iron levels, she remained determined and not only worked her way back but far exceeded expectations.
This year, as a senior, she helped lead her team to its first ever appearance at the state cross country meet.
The annual Spirit of Sport Awards honor student-athletes, managers, athletic trainers, coaches, administrators and industry leaders off the field who embody SVSP's Core Values: Service of the Poor, Reverence, Integrity, Wisdom, Creativity and Dedication.
