(UNDATED) - Several Lawrence County Boy Scouts have achieved their Eagle Scout rankings.

Chad Baxter of Neemore is a freshman at Bedford North Lawrence High School. He earned his ranking by making a flower bed for the Judah Church of Christ.

Jedidiah Godwin, a home-schooled student from Heltonville, achieved Eagle Scout status for leading the construction of a foot bridge at Spring Mill State Park. Brad Gilley, a naturalist at the park, oversaw the construction of the 14-foot bridge.

Four members of Boy Scout Troop 332 were honored Sunday for having earned their Eagle Scout badges.

The ceremony, which took place at the Knights of Columbus Hall, recognized Joe Cieslik, Duncan Harris, Chris Phelps and Walter Rainey.

Joe Cieslik is coordinating the rehabilitation of the common area of the community garden, including a new sign for the Bedford Parks Department.

Duncan Harris renovated the inside of the gardening building at the Bedford Parks Department's public gardens.

Chris Phelps completed landscaping at the Virgin Mary Garden at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

And Walter Rainey earned his Eagle honors by removing the old wooden doors and re-framing and installing secure steel doors at the Free Methodist Church shelter house.

In order to earn the Eagle Scout rank, a Scout must earn at least 21 merit badges and demonstrate Scout spirit, service and leadership skills. The Scout also must plan and carry out an extensive service project and must successfully complete a Scoutmaster conference and a Board of Review with the council advancement chairman and committee before being considered for the Eagle rank.
