UPDATED: Missing Hiker Found

(BROWN CO.) - According to Indiana State Police 40-year-old Jackie Bellinger has been found.

Bellinger, of Indianapolis, was located at approximately 11:20 a.m. walking on State Road 135 south of the Story area, where he was picked up by a passerby.

Bellinger then contacted a family member to advise that he was okay. He was then transported back to the initial search location outside of Story.

Bellinger told reporters that he was able to build a shelter and a fire to keep warm after losing his way in the woods.

"Watch Survivorman! He saved my life last night," Bellinger says. "It was difficult because everything was saturated."

Earlier, police and rescue workers are searching for Bellinger who was missing south of Brown County State Park near Story.

Bellinger, of Indianapolis, started hiking at 7 a.m. Sunday morning and has not been seen since.

State Police say they have received "sporadic texts" from the Bellinger during their search. The last text they received was at 2:30 a.m. this morning.

ISP says the search is concentrated near Elkinsville Road and Mount Nebo Trail Head, close to Brown County State Park.

Bellinger is 6 foot tall, 155 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was driving a blue full-size extended cab pickup truck with a camper shell. The truck was recovered at Elkinsville Road at the Mt. Nebo Trail in the Hoosier National Forest.
