(BLOOMFIELD) - Residents southwest of Bloomfield should be aware that the start-up of three new oil wells by Citizens Energy Group along County Roads 275 West and 275 South has created a sulfur odor in the air.

Dan Considine of Citizens Energy Group said Thursday that the odor does not present a danger to the public.

The Greene County Daily World reports, Citizens Energy Group expects the odor to dissipate in the coming weeks as the well start-up process concludes.
