(BLOOMINGTON) - Monroe County deputies revived a man who attempted to commit suicide late Thursday afternoon.
Deputies Mike Miller, Nathan Williamson and Spencer Parr were called to the home at 5:51 p.m.
Officer Miller found the man in the basement, hanging by an electrical cord in the basement of the home. Miller cut him free of the cord and started cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Williamson retrieved a rescue mask from a squad car, while Parr kept the family calm.
Deputies successfully revived the man, who had no pulse and was not breathing .
The man was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Bean Blossom Township firefighters assisted at the scene.
