Martin Luther King Jr. Day Closings And Events

(BEDFORD) - All City of Bedford Offices will be closed on Monday, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

TASC buses will not be running on Monday. All Monday trash will be picked up as regularly scheduled. Recycling will be picked up Tuesday, January 20th.

The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will be closed Saturday through Monday in observance of the holiday. Branches resume their regularly scheduled business hours on Tuesday, January 20.

The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Unity Celebration in Lawrence County will be held at the Lawrence County Courthouse on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The event is an opportunity for the community to express solidarity and peace toward their neighbors.

The program, hosted and planned by Clarence Brown, will also feature the annual stroll around the square.

At the conclusion everyone is invited to the 39th Street Christian Church for fellowship, music, dinner and a presentation by keynote speaker, sports journalist Bob Hammel. Hammel has agreed to stay after his presentation to field questions.
