(BLOOMFIELD) - A warrant has been issued for a Hymera man after police say he and another woman made up a story about being robbed.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Michael Allen Bailey and Crystal Waggoner of Jasonville will be charged with false informing.

According to Linton Police officers, Waggoner allegedly came to the police station on December 18 to report she had been robbed by a Linton man.

Waggoner told police she was walking east on Vincennes Street in Linton, near the PACE office and was counting her money when she heard footsteps behind her. She says a large man then grabbed her from behind and took all her money and then took off running north to Pomps Tire and then west down the alley.

Waggoner told police she didn't know the man.

She claims that is when Bailey came out of the PACE office and asked her what happened and told Waggoner he knew the man that robbed her and police he was "100 percent sure" of his identity.

Later that day officers were called to a verbal argument between Waggoner, Bailey and the alleged robber.

The alleged robber told police he was approached by Waggoner to buy "Spice" or synthetic marijuana. Waggoner allegedly gave the man $80 but never got the drug.

Waggoner than admitted that she made it up the robbery story because she was mad she didn't get the drug.

Police say Bailey would not admit the story was false and told the officer "he would see him in court with his lawyer."

A criminal case was filed against Bailey and Waggoner in late December. Both were sent summons to appear in court for initial hearings on January 23. Waggoner made contact with the court and her initial hearing was vacated and rescheduled -- she's due in court on February 6.

The summons sent to Bailey came back as "unclaimed," Bailey did not show up for his hearing, and he did not contact the court. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
