Last updated on Monday, January 19, 2015

(BROWN CO.) - Police and school officials confiscated a knife, a stun gun and tobacco from high school students on a bus at Van Buren Elementary, Thursday morning.

School officials say there was never a threat to any students. The names and the exact number of students involved have not been released.

"It was a possession type of thing that came to somebody's attention," says Superintendent David Shaffer. "The students had the items."

High School Principal Shane Killinger met with the students' parents at the elementary school and the students have been disciplined.

The Brown County Democrat reports that details on what type of knife or stun gun that were confiscated have not been released, but Killinger did say the stun gun was low-grade and not something that is "seen in the movies."
