(BEDFORD) - A Lawrence County Superior Court I jury has begun deliberation in the Kyle Hutton trial.

32-year-old Kyle Hutton of Bedford is accused of driving the CJ7 Jeep the night of July 28, 2012 that crashed and killed his wife 30-year-old Morgan Hutton, friend 33-year-old Dasan Spires and Spires' fiancee 38-year-old Laura Duncan.

The accident happened on Bailey Scales Road, about 100 yards north of the intersection of Riley Boulevard.

Hutton was arrested in May of 2013 on three counts of causing death while operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .15 or greater.

Deputy Prosecutor Jody Donaldson says Hutton's blood-alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit the night of the deadly accident.

Hutton is being represented by Bloomington Attorney Samuel Shapiro. The state's case was presented by Prosecutor Michelle Woodward and Deputy Prosecutor Jody Donaldson.

When Bedford police officers arrived at the scene at 11:10 p.m., they found the bodies of Dasan Spires; Spire's fiancee, Laura Duncan and Kyle's wife, Morgan Hutton. All three had been thrown from the Jeep after it struck a utility pole and were killed.

Police say Hutton was traveling south on Bailey Scales Road and hit a utility pole on the east side of the road, causing the vehicle to flip.

Kyle Hutton was also thrown from the Jeep.

Police say neither Hutton nor the three other occupants were wearing seat belts.

The police report says Spires was a front seat passenger and the two women were riding in the back seat with Hutton driving.

Police found Spires near the overturned Jeep. Laura Duncan was found lying on the east side of Bailey Scales Road and the body of Morgan Hutton was found in a wooded area a distance away from the crash scene.

Kyle Hutton left the scene and called 911 from his home at the time at 220 Riley Blvd., not far from the crash site. He told police he couldn't find a cell phone to make the call from the crash site.

Kyle Hutton claims he was not driving the Jeep the night of the crash, Morgan Hutton was.
