Greene County Police Looking For Convicted Child Molester

Last updated on Friday, January 16, 2015

(BLOOMFIELD) - Greene County police are looking for a convicted child molester who failed to register as a sex offender after he was released from prison.

43-year-old Timothy Sylvester was initially charged with two counts of child molesting and was convicted on one count of felony child molesting and sentenced in May 2012.

Sylvester was released from prison on November 5 and is required to register as a sex offender until late April of 2023. Police say he signed a "Notification of Sex and Violent Offender Registration Responsibilities and Duties" form saying he would be living at 1 East Main Street in Bloomfield. That address is for the Greene County Courthouse.

On the day Sylvester was released, he called the Greene County Probation Officer and left a phone number and address for the homeless shelter in Bloomington. He then had seven days following his release to register. He failed to do that and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Sylvester is a white male with brown hair and blue eyes weighing 165 lbs, 5'10" tall with a rose, skull and dagger tattoo on his upper left arm and a Rottweiler on his upper right arm.

Anyone with information about Sylvester's whereabouts should contact the Greene County Sheriff's Department at (812) 384-4411.
