City Of Bloomington Offering Resource Workshop For Community-Powered Arts

(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington’s various departments will be hosting a Resource Workshop for Community-Powered Arts to detail the art grant programs offered throughout the City.

The workshop will take place Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Council Chambers of City Hall, 401 N. Morton St.

Participants will learn about grant programs and partnership opportunities available at the City of Bloomington to help support artistic ideas and assist in transforming their ideas into reality. Representatives from the Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District (BEAD), the Bloomington Arts Commission (BAC), the Bloomington Urban Enterprise Association (BUEA), the Housing and Neighborhood Development Department (HAND), the Planning and Transportation Department and the Community and Family Resources Department will present information about the grant programs available that support community-powered arts projects. The representatives from each department will also share guidelines and deadlines, tips on project and partnership development, tips on writing a successful grant application and more.

This information session is designed for neighborhood associations, artists, arts organizations, businesses and anyone interested in beginning an arts project. Previous grant recipients are also encouraged to attend. The event is free and open to the public.
