Advanced Manufacturing Industry Training Offered

(UNDATED) - Attention Lawrence County Manufacturers the Bedford & Mitchell Chamber and the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council is offering individuals manufacturing industry training.

The Advanced Manufacturing Program (AMP) provides scholarship-funded training to qualified individuals. Upon completion of the eight-week (160 hour) program successful applicants will be Certified Production Technicians in the following areas Safety, Quality & Measurement, Manufacturing & Production, Maintenance Awareness.

The AMP program is a partnership of South Central Indiana employers, economic development, and workforce development organizations working together to increase the skill set of the region's workforce. Scholarships are provided by the companies and organizations who have donated funding, as well as time, effort, and asset capital to position and potentially fund Advance Manufacturing Program.

Ivy Tech Community College are planning two classes - one in Bedford from 6-9 p.m., Monday - Thursday and the other in Bloomington from 9 a.m. to Noon, Monday -Thursday. Both classes start February 23.
