Last updated on Friday, January 16, 2015

(WASHINGTON) - A Washington man is facing new charges after he attempted to run from police Tuesday night.

Washington City Police attempted to serve an arrest warrant on 28-year-old Michael A. Gerbig of Washington at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers learned Gerbig was inside a store on Jackson Street, so they waited outside the store.

When Gerbig exited the store and saw police, he ran east on Jackson Street. He was apprehended five minutes later and jailed for resisting law enforcement and on the warrant for failure to appear on a conversion charge.
