Woman Found Dead In Animal Pen Committed Suicide

Last updated on Wednesday, December 31, 2014

(BROWN CO.) - The identity of a woman found dead in an animal pen on Oak Ridge Road has been released.

Brown County Chief Deputy Coroner Earl Piper says DNA testing was used to identity the woman.

The body was that of the homeowner; her name is not being released because the woman committed suicide and it is the policy of this station to not report the names if the incident did not happen in a public place.

Police discovered the woman's body after they received a 911 call at 7:70 p.m. on October 3 after a neighbor found the dead woman inside an animal pen at the home.

Piper says the woman had been dead for possibly a week or more.

Identification by sight, fingerprints and dental records were not possible, so officials had to use DNA to identify the woman.
