Some Places Seeing Gas Prices Under $2

Last updated on Wednesday, December 24, 2014

(UNDATED) - For the first time in a long time, some gas stations in the state have lowered their prices to below $2/gal.

2 Go 2 Go's Fast Fills on Lincoln Ave., across from the University of Evansville, is selling gas for $1.99.

But in Bedford gas is selling for around $2.19/gal. Orleans has gas at $2.11/gal, Mitchell at $2.12/gal and Paoli at $2.09/gal.

The current U.S. average is $2.36/gal with Hawaii having the highest gas prices at $3.57/gal.

With the holidays, most drivers are thankful they can have a few extra dollars for last minute gifts.

Gas and oil prices have dropped steadily over the last six months due to lower demand in Europe and Asia.

Officials says the price could go a little lower, but that could change really quickly.
