(NASHVILLE) - State Road 135 will be closed from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday Dec. 6 for the Parade of Lights in downtown Nashville.

The Indiana Department of Transportation issued the permit to the Town of Nashville to allow them to close State Road 135 for the parade.

The parade will proceed from Brown County High School on School House Lane to State Road 135, north to west Washington Street, to Jefferson Street, to Gould Street, returning to State Road 135, then south to east Washington Street to return to the high school.

Those who want to attend the parade are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys which will then be distributed by the Salvation Army to Brown County families in need.

Hot chocolate and cookies will also be offered along various points in the parade to those who attend.
