Orleans Woman Found Dead At Crash Site

(FRENCH LICK) - An Orleans woman was found dead Tuesday at the scene of an accident on State Road 56 west of French Lick.

According to the Orange County Coroner Aaron Kemple, 51-year-old Amy Jo (Apple) Stevens was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of death is unknown pending further investigation, which could take up to six weeks because of the holidays.

The accident happened at 12:37 p.m. on State Road 56 West in French Lick, according to the Orange County police dispatch log. Further details about the accident were not available this morning.

Responding to the crash scene were the West Baden Springs Police Department, Orange County Sheriff's Department, Orange County EMS, French Lick Volunteer Fire Department and Orange County Rural District I Fire Department.
