(OOLITIC) - An Oolitic man was arrested after he allegedly violated a protective order and injured a woman on Friday.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, police were called to a home in the 200 block of Sixth Street at 8:07 p.m. after a report of a domestic fight.
When officers arrived they found that a woman has suffered a cut to her face.
"The woman was treated by an ambulance crew and by Oolitic Volunteer Fire Department first responders," Craig says. "She was not transported."
62-year-old Gary Murphy of Oolitic was arrested and taken to the Lawrence County Jail on charges of domestic battery causing injury and invasion of privacy. Police say Murphy had also violated a protective order the woman had filed against him.
