(MITCHELL) - The deadline to enter the Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce Christmas Lighting Contest is Noon, December 15.
For the past several years, the chamber has sponsored the contest, naming first-, second- and third-place winners for both rural and city categories. This year, however, there will be only one winner named for the entire Mitchell school district, making the contest more competitive. The prize money has also increased - the winner will receive $100.
Nominations should include the name of the homeowner, the address of the entry and a contact number.
Nominations can be made at ACE Hardware/Ben Franklin, Lawrence County Tourism and Living Well Home Care. (There is a wrapped box at each location where nominations can be dropped.) Or, you may call 849-4441 and leave a message with the nomination information or send an email to mitchellchamber@frontier.com.
