Hitchhiker Busted On Drug Charges

(GREENE CO.) - A hitchhiker walking on State Road 54 was arrested Thursday night after an Indiana State Trooper stopped him.

Off-duty trooper Richard Klun offered 59-year-old Clifford Emery of Bloomfield a ride to Bloomfield.

Emery at first denied the ride, but then got into Klun's vehicle.

Once in the vehicle, Klun detected the strong odor of marijuana. After asking Emery about the odor, the trooper found Emery had marijuana, drug paraphernalia and pills which he did not have a prescription for.

Emery was arrested on charges of possession of s schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and taken to the Greene County Jail.
