(GREENE CO.) - A two-vehicle accident Saturday morning left several injured.

The accident happened at 5:44 a.m. in eastern Greene County on State Road 45 North and Johnson Lane.

According to a Greene County Sheriff's press release, 21-year-old Shawn Pearson of Bloomfield and 21-year-old Steven McGlockin of Bloomington were both traveling northbound on State Road 45, when McGlockin ran off the roadway due to icy road conditions.

Pearson, who was behind McGlockin, applied his brakes but slid on the ice, causing the vehicle to run off the roadway over an embankment and flipping his vehicle. His passenger, 21-year-old Melinda Schloesser, was trapped inside. Center Township Fire Department had to remove the roof of the vehicle to free Scholesser.

Pearson, who complained of back pain, was taken by ambulance to IU Bloomington Health Hospital for treatment.

Schloesser, who suffered leg and arm pain, was taken by ambulance to IU Bloomington Health Hospital.

Both McGlockin and his passenger, 34-year-old Jason Prince, refused medical treatment.

The roadway was shut down for an hour due to rescue efforts.

Greene County Ambulance Services and Center Township Fire Department assisted on scene.
