(BLOOMINGTON) - Crowds of protesters stalled traffic around the Bloomington square Saturday afternoon, as hundreds of people chanted protests before staging a mass “die-in” on the courthouse square.
The Herald Times reports that two organized protest efforts -- one starting from IU's Sample Gates at noon, the other immediately after at Peoples Park -- marched in solidarity with the National Day of Resistance, a day on which protest efforts stemming from Ferguson, Missouri, and other officer-involved shooting headlines, have called for national and international assemblies.
