Last updated on Thursday, December 18, 2014

(SEYMOUR) - A Crothersville man who pleaded guilty to two counts of child neglect after failing to get proper prenatal care for his baby recently received a six-year prison sentence.

35-year-old Jesse B. McSwain was arrested in July after an investigation was completed by Indiana State Police and the Jackson County office of the state Department of Child Services.

According to the probable cause affidavit signed by Master Trooper Richard Roseberry, police discovered the mother of McSwain's baby did not receive proper prenatal or postnatal care during her pregnancy.
