Body Found In Sullivan County Cornfield

(SULLIVAN) - Indiana State Police and Sullivan County law enforcement agencies are investigating after a body was found in a cornfield.

At 2:23 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Indiana State Police, Sullivan County Sheriff's Department and Sullivan Police went to a cornfield located in rural Sullivan in the area of County Road 300 North and County Road 325 East after a farmer located a body while he was harvesting corn.

According to an Indiana State Police press release, due to the condition of the body, investigating officers were unable to determine the person's sex or age.

An autopsy is scheduled for today at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

This is an on-going investigation and further information will be released as it becomes available.
