Bedford Post Office Will Be Open On Three Sundays

Last updated on Thursday, December 4, 2014

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Post Office will be open from noon to 4 p.m. on three Sundays - Dec. 7, 14 and 21 - to help get those Christmas packages reach their designations.

Bedford Postmaster Shelli Warren says customers will be able to ship packages, pick up mail and purchase stamps.

U.S. Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe says this is the time of year the postal service kicks it up to help with crunch time in getting those Christmas items to loved ones in time for the holidays.

Donahoe anticipates double-digit growth just in its package business this holiday season - in the range of 450 to 470 million packages. That's about 12 percent more than last year.

Trucks leave the Bedford Post Office at 1:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. So customers need to have their item at the post office no later than 5:15 p.m. if not, it won't leave until the next morning.

Here are the cut off dates for Christmas delivery:
