(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Board of Works approved the promotions of three firefighters Monday afternoon.
Bedford Fire Chief Jon Wagner requested the promotions.
Lieutenant John D. Hughes was promoted to Captain. Hughes was serving as lieutenant at Station 2 on the northside of town, but now will be stationed at the fire department's headquarters on H Street and serve as lieutenant on second shift.
Captain Brent Allen, who services as the department's training officer, and Captain DeWayne Turpen, who is the department's fire Inspector, were both promoted to the rank of battalion chief.
