(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was injured after he swerved to avoid hitting a deer this morning on Tunnelton Road.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 22-year-old Robert Crane, of 7340 Tunnelton Rd., was traveling westbound on Tunnelton Road at 6:29 a.m. when a deer ran into the path of his 2001 Ford Escape. Crane swerved to miss the deer and the Escape ran off the roadway causing him to strike a Duke Energy utility polce.
The pole and utility lines blocked the road way for a short time until crews could arrive and remove the lines and pole from the roadway.
Crane, who complained of chest and wrist pain was taken by a Seals ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.
