(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after he allegedly squeezed a woman's head and lifted her off the ground during a domestic dispute on Friday.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called around 4 p.m. to a home in the 1800 block of Fourth Street.

The woman reported that she and 23-year-old Dustin Watson had been arguing for several days and the fight had escalated into a physical confrontation.

The woman suffered red marks and scratches to her face and head.

She signed a battery affidavit and officers arrested Watson on a charge of battery causing injury. He was released from jail Monday, on his own recognizance.
