(SALEM) - A Salem woman who allegedly shot at a man whom she told police owed her $100 was arrested and charged with two felonies.

34-year-old Jeanne La Chappelle is facing two felonies for pointing a firearm and criminal recklessness as well as misdemeanor charge of carrying a handgun without a license.

The Leader-Democrat reports that La Chappelle was arrested after holding Kevin Wynn at gunpoint in the parking lot at Morgan's Market. At that point, according to the police report, the handgun was not loaded. However, La Chappelle allegedly fired the weapon moments earlier as she and Wynn traveled down State Road 56 East. Wynn told officers she pointed a gun at him and shot one time. The report noted there was a bullet hole in the bed of Wynn's Chevy S10 just behind the cab on the driver's side. A metal slug was found in the truck bed.

A spent casing and a magazine were located inside La Chappelle's silver Chevrolet Impala. She told officers she had let Wynn borrow her car and $100 earlier in the day so that he could buy heroin. After several hours, she attempted unsuccessfully to contact Wynn. He finally responded, telling her her car was at Goodwill and the money was in it.

When she found the money wasn't there, La Chappelle began searching for him. She spotted him in Salem, then caught up to him on SR 56, where she tried to get him to pull over. When he refused, she pointed the gun at him, saying it went off because she was mad and shaking.

She then followed him to Morgan's Market, where an off-duty officer saw her pointing the gun at Wynn.

Officers found a syringe and spoon in Wynn's truck. He was charged with possession of paraphernalia and possession of a syringe, both misdemeanors.
