Solve Crime, Win Cash Prize At BNL High School Drama Club Production

Last updated on Friday, November 21, 2014

(BEDFORD) - Are you good at the board game Clue and can solve “whodunnits”? If you can, you could possibly win a cash prize at the upcoming Bedford North Lawrence High School Drama Club production of “If It’s Monday, This Must be Murder!” by Pat Cook.

The comedy/mystery is a spoof of 1940s era detective stories. The play will be presented Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the BNL Performing Arts Center. Tickets cost $5 and will be available at the door.

The plot focuses on three murders at an exclusive country club. Private Detective Harry Monday (played by Garrett Thompson) is on the job. Among the suspects are the club members (played by Garrett Smith, Sidra St. Rain, Kaitlyn Jones, Atalie Klumpp, Devin Brenema and Suzanne Schneider). But before the play is over, there will be more victims. Other cast members are Donny Voorhies, Spencer Parenti, Kyla Gillespie, Andrea Lee and Tonya Umphress. BNL teacher Chris Kupersmith will play one of the victims.

"The play is like a game of 'Clue,'" said Joe Voris, the play's director. "During intermission there will be a table in the lobby that will contain clues to the identity of the killer."

Audience members will receive ballots to vote for who they think the killer to be. Additional ballots will be available for $1. At the end of the performance, one ballot with the correct answer will be drawn for a cash prize of $25.
