Last updated on Monday, November 10, 2014

(DUBOIS CO.) - A single vehicle crash east of Huntingburg had claimed the life of a Birdseye woman.

Around 2:08 p.m. on Saturday, 26-year-old Reva N. Enlow of Birdseye was traveling eastbound on State Road 64, when the passenger side wheels of the silver 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee she was driving left the south side of the roadway.

Enlow attempted to correct the vehicle by driving back onto the roadway; however, she cut the wheels too sharp, causing the vehicle to spin. The Jeep traveled sideways off of the north side of the roadway and rolled, coming to rest upside down, on the edge of a cornfield.

As the vehicle rolled over, her passenger, 25-year-old Cassie Lee Turner of Birdseye, was thrown from the front passenger window. After attempts by Memorial Hospital EMS and St. Anthony First Responders to revive her, Turner died as a result of her injuries.

Enlow was airlifted from the scene to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, where she was treated for injuries to her head, spleen, and back. She is listed in stable condition. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Assisting at the scene were investigating officer / reconstructionist ISP Sgt. Philip Hensley, Dubois County Sheriff's Department, St. Anthony Fire Department, Memorial Hospital EMS, Dubois County Coroner's Office
