(DAVIESS CO.) - An Otwell man was killed in an accident on State Road 257, a quarter mile south of Daviess County Road 725 North, Friday night.
According to a Daviess County Police report, 79-year-old James Wiscaver was traveling northbound on State Road 257 when he drove his 1996 Ford pickup truck off the east side of the road. The truck traveled 283 feet before coming back onto the roadway.
The truck then went another 83 feet crossing over the center line and off the west side of the road and down an embankment. Police say the front end of the truck hit the ground causing it to roll into a tree line along the ditch.
Police say the airbags deployed, but Wiscaver was not wearing a seatbelt.
Wiscaver was pronounced dead at the scene.
