Michael Branham Wins Lawrence County Sheriff Race

(BEDFORD) - Republican Mike Branham is Lawrence County’s new Sheriff.

On January 1, he will replace current Sheriff Sam Craig, who has served two consecutive terms and, by state law, could not run again.

Branham received 6,164 votes.

Independent candidate John C. Sherrill received 1,866 votes.

Democrat candidate Bill Allen received 1,495 votes, with Libertarian candidate Darin S. Kinser taking 211 votes.

Republican incumbent Mark Mathis defeated Democrat candidate Brandon Hedrick for the District 3 seat on the Lawrence County Council.

Three of the four North Lawrence school board seats were contested.

Incumbent Kirsten Collier defeated Benjamin C. Kimmel for the District 1 seat.

Incumbent Gary Holmes defeated Bob Evans and Alan Norman for the District 2 seat.

Beth Ritter defeated incumbent Bradley R. Flinn and Brianna L. Miller for the District 3 seat.
