Homeowners Ask Judge To Annul Decision On Confined Animal Feeding Operation

Last updated on Wednesday, November 12, 2014

(JACKSON CO.) - A group of homeowners is asking a judge to annul a decision by the Jackson County Board of Zoning Appeals to allow a confined animal feeding operation near Dudleytown.

Fourteen people were listed on the appeal filed last week against the board and its decision to approve a special exception for a 4,000-head feeder-to-finish hog operation.

That operation owned by Kyle and Leah Broshears, will be built on 10 acres northwest of county roads 1050E and 200S between Dudleytown and Uniontown.

Kyle Broshears says the appeal was expected and that his attorneys are working to secure the future of livestock production in the county.
