Greene Co. Crime Stoppers Offering Reward For Information On Accused Murderer Jorrell Houldson

Last updated on Thursday, November 20, 2014

(GREENE CO.) - Greene County Crime Stoppers, a civilian-run, non-profit organization, is offering a reward for anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of alleged murderer Jorrell Houldson.

The amount of the reward, Crime Stoppers President Kelly Fogelsong says, will depend on the quality of the information received.

"Crime Stoppers is willing to pay a substantial reward if someone has information to his whereabouts," Fogelsong explained. "If anyone wants to donate to Crime Stoppers with a stipulation that their donation goes to this specific case, we would be willing to do that."

Houldson is accused of murdering his mother, Ruby Moon Houldson, on Oct. 1, at her home. She was stabbed more than 20 times.

Police say Jorrell had scratches that resembled fingernail marks on his bicep, and blood matching his mother's DNA profile was found on his shoes. Police believe Jorrell killed his mother because he was late on paying his mother $550 in rent and that Jorrell who was not employed had discussed with his mother making him the executor of her estate.

Crime Stoppers, which has been offering money for information on local crimes for around 15 years, will pay cash for information, and those who call can remain anonymous.

The tip line is answered at the Linton Police Department, by experienced dispatchers who know the proper questions to ask. The calls do not come through the department's regular communications system and do not show the caller identification and are not recorded.

"We do pay cash, and we do it anonymously," Fogelsong stated. "We have different ways of doing that. We would love to pay a tip to get this man apprehended."

Anyone who has information about the crime, or who wants to make a donation may call 812-TIP-LINE (847-5463).
