According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Don Gregory, 27-year-old Jose Casares, of Mission, Texas was traveling north on north on I-65 when he fell asleep at the wheel.

Sgt. Gregory located a co-driver, Ramon Buentello 28-year-old of Almao, Texas still inside the sleeper berth of the semi.

After being released from the hospital Casares was arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing injury with a prior conviction and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

Buentello was taken by ambulance to Schneck Medical Center and was treated and released.
