Last updated on Monday, November 10, 2014

(BLOOMFIELD) - Devin K. Bays, whose whereabouts were previously unknown, was arrested last week on a warrant.

Bays signed out of the Greene County Corrections Residential Work Release Facility on Sept. 27 and never returned. To was to go to work at the Japanese restaurant in Bloomington, but never showed. A warrant was issued for his arrest on a felony charge of failure to return to lawful detention.

Bays was serving time at the facility after he plead guilty in May to felony offenses of possession of meth and a controlled substance. He was sentenced to serve two years, to run concurrently, at the Indiana Department of Correction, with one year suspended.

Bays signed an amended petition to revoke suspended sentence and the court revoked one-and-a-half years credit for 98 days served. He was placed on probation for one year with the conditions that he not commit another crime and that he not use, possess or transport controlled substances other than prescription drugs. He was then committed to the Greene County Community Corrections Work Release Facility for one year.

In July, Bays took a court ordered urine screen, which tested positive for meth. Then on Sept. 20 he tested positive for morphine. The next week he left the facility and never returned.
