(JACKSON CO.) - Two teenagers wanted by police in connection with a month-long crime spree in Jackson, Clark and Scott counties were arrested Tuesday afternoon.
Police arrested 19-year-old Franklin D. Sessions and 19-year-old Dustin L. Dunn.
Sessions, of Seymour, is facing charges of two counts of burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
Dunn, who told police he is homeless but originally from Seymour, is facing charges of armed robbery, two counts of theft, burglary and criminal mischief.
He's also accused of stealing a white pickup from a mowing company in Scott County and is a suspect in an armed robbery in Henryville.
Both men were booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown and being held without bond pending their initial hearings.
Jackson County Sheriff Michael Carothers says the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, Seymour Police Department, Clark County Sheriff's Department and Scott County Sheriff's Department worked together to zero in on the two men and make arrests.
The Tribune reports that the most recent crime involving the pair was reported at 11:43 p.m. Monday when Dunn and Sessions, who are friends, used a stolen white pickup out of Scott County to break down a glass door at a Marathon gas station at Uniontown.
The store was closed at the time, and no one was inside. The two are accused of stealing cigarettes and chewing tobacco.
Police say that this is not the first time Dunn stole from that particular Marathon.
On Oct. 13, Dunn is accused of entering the station with a gun, which was a BB gun disguised as a real one. He displayed the weapon and demanded money. Dunn then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Two days later on Oct. 15, Dunn was accused of pulling a gun on a clerk at another Marathon located in Henryville. He used the same BB gun in the robbery. However, he left with no money after the store clerk pulled out his own gun and told Dunn to put the gun on the counter and leave. Dunn did what the clerk requested.
A day later, on Oct. 16, police were alerted to a burglary at the Seymour Country Club, located on the city's north side. An air compressor and fuel from a mower were stolen from a utility shed, and there also was damage to a leaf blower.
The two were arrested when police found them at Sessions' home at 10373 N. U.S. 31 in Reddington.
Police went to the house to speak to Sessions about his involvement in theft of fuel from a gas station in Seymour, which occurred four times. Police say the men were captured on video surveillance cameras pumping gas and driving off. At one point, Dunn was seen driving the stolen white pickup.
When police went to arrested the two men, Sessions cooperated, but Dunn tried to flee by running jumping through a back window of the house.
Dunn was later seen running in the area of County Road 1000 North and was apprehended by police.
Police did recover the stolen truck near State Road 250 in the bottoms between Brownstown and Crothersville. A company's logo on the truck had been covered with paint.
A shotgun, which apparently was in the truck before it was stolen, was also was recovered Tuesday at Sessions' house.
Dunn is also wanted for weapon offenses in Clark County.
Police say both men admitted to committing the crimes.
