(WASHINGTON CO.) - The Christmas Assistance Program in Washington County is accepting applications for Christmas assistance.

Applications will be accepted this Friday, Oct. 17, 1-5 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. at Southern Hills Church on State Road 135 South.

Amy Crane, who organizes CAP through Southern Hills, says she receives several calls a day asking about applications.

Not only does the organization provide children with gifts but much needed clothing like socks, undergarments, coats and shoes.

CAP acts as an umbrella organization, distributing names to Shop With A Cop, the Salvation Army Angel Tree and to groups and individuals through local banks.

Crane says she has not yet confirmed which banks will hand out names, but says she expects full participation.
