Unionville Man Arrested After Assualting Man At Seminary Park

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Unionville man was arrested after he caused a disturbance at Seminary Park Saturday afternoon.

An officer was on routine patrol at 4:25 p.m. in the 100 block of West Second Street when he noticed the disturbance in the park and saw the suspect flee the area.

The man was later seen in the 400 block of South Walnut Street and again fled from police but was caught. The man gave police several names before they were able to identify him as 32-year-old Jordan Harris.

Harris, was bleeding from his lip, and told police he had left Seminary Park after using a belt with a metal padlock attached to hit a 44-year-old man he had been arguing with in the back of the head. The man was taken to the hospital for treatment of a head injury.

According to police, others in the park then assaulted Harris before he fled.

During his arrest, officers found a pipe Harris used to smoke Spice

Harris was arrested on charges of battery, possession of drug paraphernalia, false information, and public intoxication.

He was booked into Monroe County Jail at 6:38 p.m. and is being held on a $5,000 surety or $500 cash bond.
