Last updated on Thursday, October 23, 2014

(SEYMOUR) - A squirrel caused a power outage in Seymour on Wednesday morning, leaving much of the city in the dark for more than half an hour.

At 11:42 a.m. Wednesday, a squirrel found its way into a Duke Energy substation transformer that regulates power to parts of the city, says Duke Energy senior communication consultant Lew Middleton.
