(SEYMOUR) - A man accused of beating a woman then pulling her out of his vehicle was arrested on a Jackson Circuit Court warrant.
That warrant accuses 45-year-old Justin Krietenstein of Seymour of one count of kidnapping, a Level 6 felony, and a second count of battery with bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor, according to information submitted to the court by Chief Deputy Prosecutor Jeff Chalfant.
The kidnapping charge stems from a recent change in state statute that defines kidnapping as a Level 6 felony when a person "knowingly or intentionally" removes another person by threat of force from one place to another.
