Public Invited To Ribbon Cutting For Milwaukee Trail Friday

(BEDFORD) - The public is invited to a ribbon cutting and Community Walk on the Milwaukee Trail at 5 p.m. on Friday.

Mayor Shawn Girgis will greet the public at the U Street trailhead, the event is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. After the ceremony there will be a walk to the 16th Street bridge.

The first 5.5 miles of trail, from L Street to Coxton Road will be officially declared open but with caution - because there are a few details yet to be completed.

Parking will be available in the upper level parking area south on the south side of John Williams Boulevard west of U Street. Parking is also available at the Central Church of Christ, at 1401 12th Street, one block south of the trail west of N Street. There is no parking at the lower level U Street trailhead.
