Last updated on Thursday, October 30, 2014

(BLOOMFIELD) - A warrant was issued Monday for the arrest of Jason Anthony Neidlinger of Newberry.

20-year-old Neidlinger is wanted on a preliminary charge of child molesting, a Class C felony.

A family member of the victim contacted Bloomfield Town Marshal Ken Tharp concerned about gifts the teen was receiving from Neidlinger.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Tharp detailed ongoing contacts that started last summer that took place between Neidlinger and the 13-year-old girl.

The two reportedly met at the library several times and kept in contact through Facebook and emails, with the relationship progressing from talk to sexual activity that allegedly occurred in the library, in the library elevator, behind the bushes outside the library and in Neidlinger's vehicle.

Neidlinger admitted to police he knew the girl was 13-years-old.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Neidlinger should call the Greene County Sheriff's Department or Bloomfield Town Marshal Ken Tharp.
