Mitchell Woman Suffered Serious Facial Injuries In Crash

Last updated on Friday, October 24, 2014

(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell woman suffered serious facial injuries after she crashed her vehicle into a tree early Thursday morning on Sportsman Club Road.

According to Lawrence County police 42-year-old Tessa Pastors had been drinking before the accident.

When officers arrived just after 4 a.m. they found Pastor sitting in the front seat of another vehicle waiting for a medic to arrive.

Police say Pastor suffered a possible fractured jaw and other facial injuries and was unable to talk to police. However Pastor smelled as if she had been consuming alcoholic beverages.

She was taken to Indiana University Bloomington Hospital for treatment. While there officers asked for a blood draw to determine if Pastors was intoxicated. Those results are pending.

Police say Pastors was traveling northbound on Sportsman Club Road when she ran her 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue off the roadway and struck a tree.
