I-69 Bridge Dedicated In Daviess County

Last updated on Wednesday, October 22, 2014

(DAVIESS CO.) - A ceremony was held Monday morning to officially dedicate the I-69 bridge at the U.S.-50 Interchange in Daviess County.

The Graham-Newland Bridge is named for lifelong residents of Daviess County, David Graham and the late James Newland. Interstate 69 was the brainchild of Graham, who recruited Newland to help him travel the state for over a decade to solicit support for the highway.

Graham accepted an honorary plaque at the ceremony, as did Newland's family. Also on hand was State Representative Mark Messmer and Washington Mayor Joe Wellman.
