Hoosier Uplands To Restore Mitchell Opera House

(MITCHELL) - Hoosier Uplands will take over ownership of the Mitchell Opera House and will restore it.

Built in 1902, the building has served as a vaudeville theater, fire and police department and city hall before being reverted back to a theater in 1980's. The building now sIts empty.

The plan is to restore the building and use it as a theater.

The Mitchell City Council voted Monday to donate the building to Hoosier Uplands.
