Dubois Co. Community Corrections Participant Died From Methadone Toxicity

(DUBOIS CO.) - Dubois County Coroner says a community corrections participant died from methadone toxicity.

29-year-old Christopher Klee of Jasper was found unresponsive in his bed at the center at 3:55 a.m. on September 3.

Dubois County officers and Memorial Emergency Medical Services responded to the center but Klee was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dubois County Coroner.

According to the coroner's report released Wednesday, Klee was found to have methadone in his system at the time of his death and the cause of death was declared to be methadone toxicity.

Methadone is used as a pain reliever and as part of drug addiction detoxification and maintenance programs.
